Music Video Analysis.
I have chosen to analyse the music video 'Mirrors Image' By British band The Horrors. The Horrors are recognised as a 'Dark Indie' band, as well as taking influence from 'Shoe-Gazing' and 'Post-Punk Revival' styles of music.
Directed by Douglas Hart, this music video follows a 'Disjunction', because on a first look basis, the video doesn't follow a narrative, in conjunction with the lyrics of the song. The video seems to have a phychedelic feel, as the backdrop to the video, consists of vibrant and quirky colours, using a super imposed background, the backdrop is projected to the back of film. After this the members of The Horrors, came and filmed over the top, completing the music video. Look at the clip below for example.
Hart diliberately uses bad transition so that it becomes reomotely obvious that members are fading in and out of the video, and also the video is very abstract, nothing essential or informative happens. I believe this can give you the impression, that The Horrors are not trying to give anybody inparticular information, nor use music to their advantage, to express their views. As shown in the clip below.
Although, when I actually start to make my music video, I would doubt that I'll actually follow all the proceedings of this video, this is because the song I have chosen, 'Who Can Say' by The Horrors, this song tells a narrative, so I'll attempt to tell this story through the visuals, something this video doesn't do.

Max, whilst I appreciate you are working on your own that doesn't excuse tardiness when it comes to completing the work expected of you. You MUST do everything on the coursework schedule, video analysis MUST be detailed and you MUST explain what you have learnt, look at Meg, Jess, Jow and Tibbles work for an example of the standard required
