Music Video Analysis.

The following video I have chosen to analyse is The Cribs 'Hey Scenesters', the video follows a performance structure.

This video by The Cribs follows a performance structure, although the after effects, and editing, take this video from being very straightforward, to intriguingly clever. The video shows the band performing a song on their own a room, but uses use blurred vision, extremely fast edited cuts, the video also uses recreating shots, by having a member of the band making the exact same action, but just singing a different line.
My favourite aspect of the music video is stop motion that The Cribs use, I haven't always been the biggest fan of stop motion, but the way that The Cribs use it is very effective, because it gives off the impression that The Cribs are a wacky band, lashing out on their instruments.

The video follows a performance structure, it is a very simple idea really, the band are just performing, but hte effcts used give off differents twists, making it a bit more quirky.
The room they’re performing in, looks like run down, that rarely gets used, I believed this will have been a good idea, especially when the video was made, which was 2005, because at the time The Cribs were a very underground Post-Punk band, and this has been interpreted even further by making The Cribs perform in this underground room.

From the 'Hey Scenesters video, I have learn that using the stop motion could be quite a good idea, if used correctly, because I believe that in this video, the stop motion also helps to liven up the video. Secondly I also think that it works if your backdrop, ofr film location has some sort of comparison to style of band that you are, such as what The Cribs did, by using an 'underground' room to film their video in.
